The Visa Waiver Program (VWP) enables nationals of certain countries (including Australia) to travel to the United States for tourism or business (visitor visa purposes) for stays of 90 days or less without obtaining a visa. Not all countries participate in the VWP, and not all travellers from VWP countries are eligible to use the program.
VWP travellers are required to apply for authorization through the Electronic System for Travel Authorization (ESTA), are screened at their port of entry into the United States, and are enrolled in the Department of Homeland Security’s Office of Biometric Identity Management.

Trusted Traveller Programs and Global Entry
For eligible travellers looking to further simplify their arrival into the United States, Trusted Traveler Programs (TTP), including Global Entry, offer a faster, more efficient entry experience.
Designed for pre-approved, low-risk travellers, Global Entry allows members to expedite processing upon arrival using designated lanes or the Global Entry Mobile App. While separate from visa and ESTA requirements, enrolment in Global Entry can help streamline your entry process and reduce time spent at the airport after international travel.
Global Entry membership also includes access to TSA PreCheck®, allowing for expedited security screening on domestic flights within the United States.Available to US citizens, US lawful permanent residents and citizens of select partner countries.
