The Moana Surfrider known as the “First Lady of Waikīkī” will celebrate its 125th anniversary on 11 March 2026. In celebration of its anniversary, the iconic hotel is undergoing a stunning renewal. Inspired by the natural beauty and restorative spirit of Ulukou, the renovation will reimagine all 791 guest rooms and suites, refresh the historic lobby, and introduce a new oceanfront event space. Completed in phases through 2025 and 2026, the design will weave together motifs of kou lei, ocean movement, and the banyan tree’s graceful roots creating a unified, rejuvenating experience that celebrates both heritage and place.
