(Sydney, 23 November 2022) More than 50 media, members and partners in the US travel industry in Australia came together this morning to celebrate Thanksgiving, and give thanks for our long-standing partnerships and friendships, and the new ones forged over the last twelve months.

The Visit USA and Brand USA breakfast, sponsored by Colorado Tourism Office, Arizona and Disney Destinations, was held at The Butler in Potts Point and was a lively morning filled with Thanksgiving tradition, including pumpkin pie! Guests were welcomed with mimosas on the balcony overlooking the city skyline, before being treated to a family-style Thanksgiving breakfast.

“Our annual Thanksgiving breakfast is so important to us as it gives us, alongside Brand USA, the opportunity to thank so many of our members and partners in person. We are so grateful for the commitment and dedication of our industry colleagues in delivering continued growth in visitation to the US. 800,000 Australians have visited the US so far this year, which is a 60% increase on the same period last year*. It has been a huge year for us all and we are very thankful,” says Caroline Davidson, President of Visit USA Australia.

Clinton White, Trade Director of Brand USA, said, “We were once again delighted to partner with Visit USA Australia for the annual Thanksgiving breakfast this year. This day is always a very special time as it allows us to have gratitude, thank our valuable partners, and celebrate just like our US friends and family do. Both Visit USA and Brand USA are invaluable in promoting visitation to the US, so it is a natural fit to join forces for Thanksgiving”.

Event sponsors, Colorado Tourism Office, Arizona and Disney Destinations, also thanked partners for a year of tremendous growth.

Monique Roos, Senior Commercial Service Specialist from the US Commercial Service, joined the festivities and thanked the attendees for their continued support in selling the US.
